WHY SEVERAL COMPANIES INVOLVED IN THE CRYOPRESERVATION OF STEM CELLS ARE NO LONGER ACTIVE?

stem-cells-family

In recent years, many companies involved in the cryopreservation of stem cells have ceased operations. Since then, affected families have been searching for their children’s stem cells to find out what happened to them.

This is because these companies were neither real biobanks nor their own laboratory, but merely intermediaries that acted as banks for third parties.

It is essential to ensure that attractive offers do not disguise the transfer of samples to locations or countries other than those contracted for.

SSCB, which has been active in the field of stem cell storage since 2005, pursues a policy of complete transparency. Not only does it own the biobank in the canton of Ticino, but it also subjects its own laboratory (in the same building) to constant and strict control by external inspectors (Swissmedic and Fact-NetCord), who check the entire cryopreservation process, thus guaranteeing families the highest safety and quality. And that’s not all: SSCB gives all parents the opportunity to visit the laboratory at any time!

To protect families and reaffirm its policy of transparency, the SSCB is available to all parents to assist them with their children’s stem cell research.

Be suspicious of providers who only offer discounts, do not have their own laboratory and rely on third parties – trust the SSCB!
